NEXT AT KNOX CREEK
DEVELOPMENT PLAN
OUR VISION
Located in the heart Oconee County, Knox Creek is a world-class camp just waiting to happen — a place where thousands of kids will someday hear the Gospel and experience opportunities that will change their lives. Situated in the shadow of iconic Table Rock State Park and boarding the beautiful Sumter National Forest, this stunning property with extraordinary potential is primed to become one of the South’s most popular retreat centers.
The long-term vision for Knox Creek is to build a 1,000 bed campus to host a variety of groups and activities on the property. This is a long-term vision with multiple milestones along the way. The campus will be built in 4 phases, with each adding additional capacity, activities, and infrastructure to the property. Each initiative will expand our potential and serve as an additional opportunity to host ministries in our community and across the Southeast.

NEXT AT KNOX CREEK
Welcome to the heartbeat of Knox Creek’s future. This is where we share the unfolding story of a vision in motion—a living journal of milestones, momentum, and what God is building through this ministry. As our capital campaign moves forward, we want this space to serve as both a window and a witness: a place to cast the big vision, celebrate progress, and keep you connected to the work happening on the ground.
Pioneer Camp: Our Next Frontier
Inspired by the cowboy tradition of spike camps, temporary tent setups used on the open range, Knox Creek’s next lodging experience captures that same spirit of adventure, simplicity, and purpose. As demand to be part of the ministry continues to outpace our build timeline, our Pioneer Camp gives us a way to keep saying YES.
Immediate Expansion: Pioneer Camp gives us the capacity to welcome more kids right NOW, not months from now. We're already hosting, and this will help us meet growing demand while staying rooted in our mission.
Initial Infrastructure: We’re laying the essential groundwork, clearing trails, installing utilities, and carving out access roads to make this space safe, functional, and ready for immediate ministry use.
Frontier Tents: Rugged, safari-style tents provide our new wave of overnight lodging. These shelters are simple but powerful, a place to sleep under the stars, unplug from the noise, and lean into what matters.
Bonfire Ring: The heart of Pioneer Camp will be a central fire pit for nightly worship, storytelling, and shared moments that stick with you long after the embers die out.
Outdoor Worship Space: We’re crafting a dedicated open-air venue surrounded by trees and sky, perfect for teaching, prayer, and a place to discover the Joy of the Gospel.
PAST: Making Room for What’s to Come
Every great vision begins with preparation. Our first step toward building the future of Knox Creek was a strategic clearing of the land through logging—an intentional process that allowed us to open up space for roadways and site development. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was essential groundwork. This step created the literal and spiritual path forward for all that’s to come.
PRESENT: Building the Foundation
Right now, we’re in an exciting season of tangible progress. As we move forward with our Pioneer Camp, site development for the retreat lodge is well underway, bringing the dream of a dedicated space for rest, renewal, and community one step closer to reality. This lodge will serve as a cornerstone of our campus—a place where guests can gather, worship, and experience the presence of God in a setting designed just for them.
FUTURE: Creating Places of Connection
On the horizon are several projects that will elevate the guest experience and expand what Knox Creek can offer. We’re preparing to construct the west gate main entrance, a welcoming threshold that will set the tone for every visit. Plans are also in motion for an event tent and open-air gathering space, along with a bonfire and event area designed for worship nights, conversations under the stars, and future glamping accommodations. These are the low-hanging fruits—within reach, and rich with potential to bless the local church and beyond.
Stay tuned, stay connected, and thank you for helping bring this vision to life. The best is truly yet to come.
